3.     Music Ministry announcements:

4.     The Senior Missionaries of Johnston Piney Grove will sponsor a program on the History of Black Women’s Hats on Saturday, February 18th at 1:00 p.m.  For more information see Sis. Elvivian Brown or Sis. Ann Williamson.
 
5.     Harbor of Johnston County is having their Valentine Ball Fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 @ 7:00pm.  This event will be held in Benson, NC @ the Preston Woodall House. This will be a sit down dinner and live band entertainment.  Tickets for this event are $125 per person and it is tax deductable.  If you are interested in attending please see Linda Richardson.
 
 6.     Green Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will observe Black History, Saturday, Feb. 11th at 5:00 pm.  Special guest Mrs. Paula Waters.  Come Join Us!
 
7.        You are invited to join the Clayton branch members here in JPG Fellowship Hall, Saturday, Feb. 11th for a “Walk Through Black History” from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.  Thank you for your support last year. During your walk, look for aspects of our history as a people.  Come and bring the family. There will be books for all children.  Refreshments will be served. Contact: Joan Lucas
 
8.     Next Sunday, Feb. 12th, everyone is asked to wear red in observance of Women and Heart Disease. Men, please wear red to support the women.  Helpful information will be available for all. Contact: Joan Lucas
 
9.     FAFSA day will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 @ Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh from 8:30am – 1:00pm if you are a senior and planning on attending college and need help with your FAFSA make plans to attend. For more information contact Linda Richardson.
 
10.     On Saturday, February 25th at 12:00 noon, Cooper Heritage will celebrate its Heritage Luncheon at the American Legion Building in Clayton, NC.  This year we are honoring the 1963 State Championship Men’s Basketball Team.  Two of those players are members of our church, Brother Billy Wall and Brother Odell Williamson.  Tickets are $20 and may be purchased from Effie Sanders.  The last day to purchase tickets is February 19th.

12. Scholarships and scholarship Information packets are available, please visit the Clerk’s office to pick up this important information. This includes the scholarship application for the Cooper Heritage Scholarship.

Mr. Joshua André Williams age 20,died on Sunday, January 8th at Columbus Regional Healthcare System.

The funeral will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 14, at the Brunswick-Waccamaw Headquarters, 600 Pinelog Road, Whiteville, by Pastor Tracey Troy.

Burial will be in the George Cemetery in Whiteville. Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville Friday from 12:00 to 7:00 PM.

Viewing will be at the Headquarters Saturday following the service.

Surviving are his mother, Kathleen Hill of the home; sisters, Justice Williams and Denasia Hope of the home, and Jamiya Black of South Carolina; brother, Divine Hope of the home; maternal grandmother, Stella Hill of Whiteville; maternal grandfather, Elery Hill of Whiteville; paternal grandmother, Louise Ashe of Newark, NJ.
